When Jigar moved into his villa in Arabian Ranches in October 2017, he was greeted by an undeveloped backyard—just a pile of sand. As someone who values refinement and thoughtful design, Jigar wanted a space that would feel like a true extension of his home: a functional and beautiful garden for family living and stylish entertaining. After meeting Sejal through a personal referral, he felt assured by her warm approach and professional guidance, even before any agreement was signed.

Scope of the Space

The entire outdoor area needed to be designed and built from scratch. Milestone was responsible for conceptualizing and executing a comprehensive landscape design including pergolas, a raised flooring bar area, water features, lighting, softscaping, and transitional indoor-outdoor zones that could be used comfortably across seasons.

Theme & Design Aspects

The garden design blends modern comfort with understated elegance. The raised wooden floor creates a seamless indoor-outdoor connection, while the custom pergola with its water feature, candle wall, and open green views offers an inviting focal point for relaxation and hosting. Lighting was used not just functionally, but to add ambiance and theatricality as guests walk through the garden gates.

Design Challenges

Transforming a barren outdoor plot into a sophisticated living environment required careful spatial planning, creativity, and integration with the villa’s existing architecture. One of the key challenges was designing a structure that could work for Dubai’s weather—usable both in summer and winter—while maintaining open-air charm and visual continuity with the house.

Outdoor Design

The landscape was designed to evoke warmth and sophistication. The bar area—housed in a raised, semi-enclosed zone—acts as a transition point from the villa to the garden. The pergola, flanked by water and candle walls, becomes the main destination space. These thoughtfully layered zones allow the family to enjoy the outdoors year-round with fluid movement and abundant charm.

Final Outcome

Jigar was thrilled with the final result, often receiving compliments from friends and guests eager to know the name of the landscape designer.
