Client Brief

The client approached Milestone after a disappointing experience with another landscaping company. Despite investing heavily in a previous design, the outcome lacked cohesion, functionality, and inspiration. He wanted a complete redesign that would feel refined, luxurious, and practical. The brief was to create a high-end outdoor living space where the family could relax and entertain, all while minimizing ongoing maintenance due to frequent travel.

Scope of the Space

The villa’s landscape covered approximately 5,879 square feet and included a pool area, garden walkways, and a dining terrace. The layout was previously cluttered and underutilized. Milestone was tasked with redesigning the entire landscape, retaining only the existing pool structure while upgrading its finishes, and creating cohesive zones for relaxation, dining, and entertainment.

THEME & dESIGN ASPECTS

The overall theme combined modern elegance with minimal maintenance. Natural textures, soft lighting, and neutral palettes were used to provide timeless appeal. Imported furniture from the client was highlighted in custom-zoned areas with firepits, pergolas, and visual focal points like the mosaic art wall. Sustainable planting and artificial grass were used to ensure year-round vibrancy with minimal upkeep.

Design Challenges

The primary challenge was salvaging the space without retaining any usable design elements from the prior landscaping contractor. Budget sensitivity was also critical, as the client had already spent significantly. Key decisions had to maximize design value while managing cost efficiency. Balancing grandeur with durability and ease of maintenance was central to the redesign strategy.

Outdoor Design

The outdoor design emphasized flow, usability, and minimal upkeep. Artificial grass and drought-tolerant plants reduced the need for maintenance. Each furniture piece was placed intentionally to frame views and facilitate conversation. Strategic lighting transformed the space at night, making it perfect for gatherings or quiet reflection.

FINAL OUTCOME

The client expressed deep satisfaction with the transformation. The garden now serves as both a tranquil retreat and a stylish entertainment zone.
