CLIENT BRIEF
Almuth and Uwe approached Milestone with a vision to transform their outdated and overgrown landscape into a refined and multi-functional outdoor haven. After occupying the home for over 15 years, they were ready for a complete outdoor upgrade that would reflect their elegant lifestyle while enabling them to entertain guests and enjoy quiet family time. They wanted a modern yet warm landscape that would align with the villa’s Spanish architectural style and improve overall functionality.
SCOPE OF THE SPACE
The villa is part of the prestigious La Collection Mirador community and overlooks the desert golf course. The landscape covered approximately 580 m² and included side yards, a rear garden, a lagoon-shaped pool, outdoor dining and lounge areas, and utility zones. The project required re-zoning and modernizing the entire outdoor space to improve flow, functionality, and visual appeal.
THEME & DESIGN aSPECTS
The design blends Spanish architectural influence with a modern, clean landscape layout. The neutral-toned palette of beige, gray, and wood-textured porcelain tiles complements the home while keeping the garden visually light and spacious. Fragrant plants like jasmine, lemon, and mint added sensorial richness, while materials like fluted WPC panels, mosaic tiles, and limestone were used to elevate the finish quality.
DESIGN CHALLENGES
The original landscape was disjointed and cluttered, with overgrown vegetation, poorly planned paving, and underutilized spaces. The challenge was to modernize the garden without altering the house’s structure, while retaining the existing pool shape to manage costs. Every element needed to serve a purpose—whether enhancing movement, enabling entertaining, or elevating visual harmony.
MAIN FEATURES & DESIGN HIGHLIGHT
- Two pergolas: one attached to the house and a large 8.5m x 5m freestanding dining pergola
- Outdoor kitchen with a wood-fired pizza oven, BBQ burner, fridge, sink, and built-in ice bucket
- Lagoon-style overflow pool refurbished with blue mosaic and limestone coping
- Fragrant plants (jasmine, rosemary, mint) for scent and greenery
- Mood-enhancing lighting: LED strip lights, lanterns, concealed step lights
- Paved walkways using warm wood-textured and gray porcelain
- Outdoor shower and pump room camouflaged with matching design finishes

OUTDOOR DESIGN
The entire landscape was zoned for varied activities: dining, lounging, swimming, and socializing. The use of earthy hues, layered textures, and ambient lighting gave the garden a resort-like feel. The fireline seating area is perfect for 8–10 guests, nestled among raised planters and Mediterranean foliage. Every outdoor feature was placed with intention, making the space flow naturally from one experience to the next.
FINAL OUTCOME
The transformation has completely redefined how the clients use their villa. They now entertain regularly and enjoy quiet family evenings under the pergola or beside the fireline. The design not only elevated the aesthetic appeal of their property but also added immense functional value. The owners often express their delight at the ease and joy of outdoor living made possible by Milestone’s thoughtful planning.
